Brain and CNS imaging studies, from glioma to neonatal MRI
Run central review in neuro-oncology trials and reader studies on brain MRI and CT.
- MRI
- CT
- Radiotherapy structure data
Sponsors, CROs, imaging core labs and academic groups use Collective Minds for brain and CNS imaging in three ways: central review in multi-hospital neuro-oncology trials, reader and measurement studies on MRI, and research datasets built from hospital CT.
What teams do in brain and CNS imaging
- Run glioblastoma clinical trial imaging. Sites upload MRI and radiotherapy structures, quality control approves them and readers review, as in neuro-oncology imaging core lab work.
- Run reader and measurement studies on brain MRI. Readers in different countries score and measure on one form, from brain tumors to hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in newborns.
- Build research datasets from hospital CT. Exams are selected with inclusion rules and brought into a research workspace.
Projects like this
A phase 3 trial in glioblastoma
An investigator-led trial across 17 hospitals in several countries.
What we did: sites upload MRI and radiotherapy structure data, with quality control and three radiology reviews per patient, for up to 180 patients.
Diffusion MRI in newborns with brain injury
A university group wanted to replicate published diffusion MRI thresholds in neonatal brain MRI of newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) treated with cooling.
What we did: a retrospective measurement study with fewer than 50 subjects, two sites and four readers in Japan and Sweden.
Traumatic brain injury on CT
A hospital research project on head injury.
What we did: 742 patient folders of CT exams brought into a research workspace through inclusion rules, in an ongoing project.
Questions we hear
Which brain images can we use?
MRI and CT, plus radiotherapy structure data in neuro-oncology trials.
Can hospitals in different countries take part?
Yes. A glioblastoma trial on the platform has 17 hospitals in several countries.
Can readers outside our hospital take part?
Yes. In a neonatal brain MRI study on hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), four readers in Japan and Sweden took measurements on the same form.
Can an imaging CRO or neuro-oncology core lab use the platform for glioblastoma trials?
Yes. Sponsors, CROs and research groups use the platform for central reads. In a glioblastoma trial on the platform, sites upload MRI and radiotherapy structures, quality control approves them and three radiologists review each patient.
