Research-Pipeline-Monitor XDR

Research 1.14

Available on: 2026-06-29

This release contains UX improvements, bug fixes, and the following new features:

  • Copy Pipeline Events
    • Duplicate any existing pipeline event, including its metadata, module configuration, and notification settings
    • Copied events inherit their position in the pipeline structure and are included in audit logs
    • Support pipeline reuse even after execution — no data is duplicated, and the copied event starts unsigned.
    • Copied events require pipeline approval before becoming active.
  • Copy Pipeline Stages
    • Duplicate a complete pipeline stage, including all underlying events, in a single action
    • The copied stage is placed immediately after the source stage, with event references incremented from the last event in the pipeline.
    • Stage structure, event relationships, and workflow order are fully preserved.
    • Speeds up the creation of complex or repetitive study designs, such as multi-reader studies.
  • Subject ID Format
    • Configure a Subject ID format at project level to enforce consistent subject identification across all creation flows.
    • Validation applies to the standard Add Subject flow, Quick Access, and the SDK.
    • If the entered Subject ID does not match the configured format, users see a clear error message at the point of entry.
    • Format validation applies only to newly created subjects, or to existing subjects when the Subject ID is changed.

CM Connect 3.4

Available on: 2026-04-20

This release contains performance optimizations, security enhancements, and the following new features:

  • High-Speed Pseudonymization
A new pseudonymization algorithm has been implemented, delivering processing speeds up to 5 times faster than previous versions. This enhancement significantly reduces the time required for local data de-identification, ensuring a more efficient throughput from the local network to the cloud.

  • SOPClass Filtering
Channel-level filters are now available to block instances or modalities based on specific SOPClasses. This provides more granular control over data ingestion, ensuring only relevant imaging data is transferred. To assist with monitoring, a metric counter has been added to track and log filtered instances in real-time.

  • Deflated Transfer Syntax Support
CM Connect now supports the Deflated Transfer syntax (1.2.840.10008.1.2.1.99). The system automatically inflates the data for processing and re-saves the processed DICOM files using the Explicit VR Little Endian transfer syntax, ensuring seamless compatibility and standardized data output.

  • System Stability & Observability
This update includes improvements to the disk guard mechanism to enhance overall system performance under heavy loads. Additionally, new logging and observability features have been added to provide better insights into system health and transfer status.

Research 1.11

Available on: 2025-03-10

This release contains UX improvements, bug fixes, and the following new features:

  • Electronic Signatures
To strengthen regulatory compliance for Collective Minds Research and ensure full adherence to 21 CFR Part 11, we have introduced an electronic signature feature. When enabled, users must enter their username or email and password to complete specific actions, such as steps in the pipeline, signing event reports, and approving members.

  • Locking Events
This feature allows authorized users to apply a hard lock to pipeline events, preventing them from being executed or repeated and providing greater control over your research pipeline and timelines. Locks can be managed directly from the pipeline view. An auto-lock setting is also available, automatically securing events after signing.

  • Series Labeling in Viewer
This feature allows custom labels to be added to DICOM series and displayed directly in the Meddream viewer. Showing these labels alongside the study images improves usability and provides a clearer context for image review and analysis.

Research 1.10

Available on: 2024-10-21

This release contains UX improvements, bug fixes, and the following new features:

  • Notifications
Quickly receive updates when key actions in your project or pipeline are signed, completed, or approved. Choose to receive notifications directly on the platform, by email, or both. Notifications can be tailored to alert specific project roles based on your configuration.

  • Incremental uploader
The upload module now includes a configuration option to allow pulling data from previous versions of the event into the current one. This streamlines the process of adding new data to a subject’s pipeline, eliminating the need to re-upload previously uploaded data.

  • Support for uploading studies that include embedded RTSTRUCT files
From 1.10, DICOM studies with embedded RTSTRUCTs (such as segmentations) are supported for upload and are integrated into the subject pipeline. Embedded RTSTRUCTs are available for viewing, processing, and modification using CMRAD viewer tools.

  • DICOM Merger Module
The DICOM Merger module allows you to select and combine multiple DICOM datasets from the pipeline into a single study, simplifying data management and streamlining your workflow.

Research 1.9

Available on: 2024-03-12

This release contains UX improvements, bug fixes, and the following new features:

  • Results View Upgrade
You can now create custom Result views from the Overall Results table. These views can, for example, be used to report selected endpoints to sponsors, display subjects from a specific site for screening, or filter cohorts by criteria such as sex, age, or project metadata.

  • Reports
Reports is a new section in the left sidebar project menu. This feature allows you to generate project reports that can include specific result views for one or more subjects, as well as uploaded external files. Each report requires approval and lets you select both receivers and approvers.

Research 1.8

Available on: 2023-07-13

This release contains UX improvements, bug fixes, and the following new features:

  • Results table improvements

    • Refactoring of Results Sub-system
The results table now updates automatically whenever source data is created or modified through a pipeline event. It also refreshes after any changes to the pipeline signature or results table configuration.

    • Add all fields in a Form to the Results table
A new feature to be able to add all of the fields in a form to the results table at the same time has been introduced. In such scenario, the user will be able to select all of the fields in a form as new result entries from the "Add entry" modal, and the corresponding entries will be created automatically.

    • Reordering Entries
With release 1.8, the users configuring the results table will be able to reorder the columns. This way, if a new entry is introduced in an existing results table, the new entry can be moved and placed in the right place without having to delete any previously entered entries.

    • Indicate changes in results from previously signed versions
In this release, the changes from a previously signed version of the results table will be marked in yellow so that the user can see the differences between the result entries in the current version and the last signed one.

    • Results from excluded subjects
In former versions of CMRad Research, the exclusion of a subject meant that its results were removed from the results table. From this update, excluded subjects will also be part of the results table.
  • Two Factor Verification (2FA) for Repository Roles
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is now mandatory for specific repository roles in version 1.8. Repository managers can require 2FA for selected roles, ensuring only authorized users can access the repository. Users can configure their accounts to use the CMRad mobile app for 2FA at login. If a role requires 2FA and it is not enabled, access to the repository will be denied.

  • Show Previous Versions of Pipeline
Starting with 1.8, users with "Edit Pipeline" permissions can view previously signed versions of a pipeline using a selector in the "Edit Pipeline" view. These historic versions are read-only and available for audit purposes.

  • Web Uploader Improvements

    • Configurable Web Uploader
From version 1.8, the web uploader provides advanced configuration options, especially for pseudonymization. Users can allow specific DICOM private tags, keep patient measurements unrounded, or retain the patient’s year of birth with anonymized dates. Additional settings let you automatically add missing Patient ID or Modality tags and accept uploads with multiple Patient IDs.

    • Improved performance
Performance when importing large studies, such as mammography images, has been optimized to significantly reduce thumbnail generation time.

Research 1.7

Available on: 2022-08-18

This release contains UX improvements, bug fixes, and the following new features:

  • Permissions System refactoring
The Research permissions system has been updated to ensure that changes to role permissions are applied instantly to all relevant repository and project members. Repository and project-level permissions are now fully separated.  From version 1.7, permissions are clearly divided into repository and project categories, maintaining the established scopes. New permissions have also been added to support expanded workflows, including View, Edit, Delete, and Approve rights for repository members and sites, as well as form approval and project audit log access.

  • Separate repository and project members
As of CMRad 1.7, membership is managed at both the repository and project levels. Repository members have organization-wide roles, while project and site members have roles specific to each project. Site members are limited to viewing subjects from their assigned sites. The members list now displays both active and deactivated users; deactivated users remain visible but cannot access resources until reactivated. Member invitations can now be approved or rejected, with reasons provided for rejections.

  • Simplified sign-up process
The new member invitation workflow allows users to add members to a project or repository by selecting from existing platform users or entering an email address, along with the new member’s name and surname. Invitations require approval from another authorized member before being sent, and invitation emails can be resent if needed.

  • Forms lifecycle and management
Forms now have an independent lifecycle and are not tied to the approval of pipelines anymore. In the forms view, you can now approve (sign) a new version of a form for use in pipeline events, or copy an existing form to create a new one with a fresh version number.

  • New auditable events
The system now records additional auditable events, including event runs, data viewing, and data downloads.

  • Mandatory "Reason for change"
A reason for change is now required when editing a subject, approving a pipeline, updating role permissions, overriding results, or signing results.
